As I stated in an earlier post, I wasnt really aware of narcissism and the effects of it. Going through this journey though, I've continued to educate myself on the topic, the signs and damage that can take place when dealing with these individuals. Some days, I'm honestly still amazed. If you ever find yourself dealing with a man or woman who is very self centered, never takes accountability, always finds a way to flip the story around to point back at you, puts you down and puffs themselves up... you might have a narcissist on your hands. I encourage you to just google some stuff. You'd be surprised.. One reason narcissist can get away with the things they say and do is because they dont have family or friends who hold them accountable. They may pretend that they don't know or don't see the abuse. #Birdbox. They may very well know that this person is controlling, abusive, a liar, etc.. but they will go to the ends of the earth to ensure that no one else knows it. In fact. they'll even slander your name right along with the narcissist because their love and loyalty to them is bigger than the truth or the morality of the situation. #Flyingmonkey. The best advice I can give anyone dealing with a similar situation is to run. Cut it off at the root as soon as you can and stay out of contact with them. Your relationship with them may end harshly, with the law being involved, charges pressed, financial abuse, debt, tarnished reputation.. run anyway! It'll be the best decision you've ever made.
