The Mission

Brown Girl Healed is very dear to me and was created following my own exit from a toxic relationship.  Throughout this period of learning, growing and researching, I realize just how many other women are dealing with the exact same issues I faced, but suffering in silence. This is due to shame, fear or lack of resources. Forgive yourself for not knowing what you didn't know...But part of the problem is also that we aren't taught to value ourselves properly from the time we are little girls and establish our own self worth. This causes us to struggle with insecurities, self doubt and low self esteem. As women, we are naturally nurturers, but if we aren't careful, we can look out for others so much that we can stunt our own growth. There is a major difference between nurturing and allowing dysfunction. My goal is to empower both girls and women to recognize that, understand who they are, build self esteem and leadership skills and to be able to carry these jewels with them throughout life.
